The Lord's will be God's will, John MacTavish lives isolated near the vast forest of New England. Strange, inexplicable things continually occur around his lonely cabin, causing the pious man to believe that he is being punished by some transcendent evil. Living in fear and isolation, he tries to resist the insidious influences from the unease and his own nature.
